Butterflies Alive!

Butterflies Alive! is a summer exhibit in the Sprague Butterfly Pavilion featuring more than two dozen tropical butterfly species from Costa Rica. Guests walk through a garden while roughly 1,000 live butterflies flutter around them, and can view an emergence chamber in the Santa Barbara Gallery to see butterflies at an earlier life stage, including chrysalis emergence. The exhibit requires a $3 pavilion ticket in addition to regular museum admission; pavilion tickets are free for Members. Reservations are recommended, and last entry is at 4:30 PM most days.
