Understand how auctions on EventVault function before you place a bid.
🧾 1. Listing Format
If the item uses the auction format, you'll see a "Place Bid" button. Some listings also include a "Buy It Now" price, allowing you to skip the auction and purchase immediately.
💵 2. Placing a Bid
Enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay. EventVault uses automatic bidding to increment just enough to outbid others—up to your max.
🤖 3. Automatic Bidding Example
Starting Bid: $20
You Bid: $50
Another Bids: $25
We automatically bid $26 for you. You stay ahead unless someone outbids your $50 max.
⏰ 4. Auction End
Most auctions have a countdown. The highest bid at the end wins. Last-second “sniping” is common.
✅ 5. If You Win
Payment is processed automatically with your card on file at the close of auction. Before charging your card we will send an invoice. You can click to instantly pay with the card on file, can choose to modify your payment method or do nothing. If you do nothing your card on file will be charged a couple days afer the close of the acution. A confirmation email and receipt are sent.
⚠️ Tips
Don’t just bid $1 higher. Use your real max if you want to win. Bidding late doesn’t guarantee victory. Know the item details.
